ARTIGO MOODS

[vc_row][vc_column width="1/2"][vc_column_text]

Starless & Starry Black

ARTIGO is a rubber flooring manufacturer that has been continuously active for almost a century. Being on a journey dedicated to experimentation and continued research, Artigo developed high performance rubber surfaces, ideal for schools, offices, hospitals, museums, and indoor public spaces.   Starless & Starry Black collection, part of Artigo Moods series, brings something different to the table and celebrates the intricacy and magnificence of black flooring. In contemporary architecture, black is the key to exclusive looks and sophisticated elegance. Black as a background brings to life every color on the foreground and is thus the perfect choice for exhibitions and museums. Communicating brand values in an institutional setting is paramount. Obviously, this communication works on many levels: rational and unconscious. In this scheme, color is a powerful and effective tool. A place devoted to studying/working today is requested to be conductive to positive vibes and an open mind. Architecture is called upon to create a space that makes studying/working easier. Black is the color of focus and silence and proves to be a perfect choice for offices, museums as well as classes.   Beside looking absolutely ravishing, Artigo floors improve the overall performance characteristics of a space at the acoustic level, with up to a 20 DB reduction in noise level due to foot traffic. As proof of their commitment to the environment, this company has received several international certifications, from the selection of raw materials to the monitoring of emissions, which qualify their floors according to the LEED and BREEAM environmental building parameters. There is a package of exclusive qualities that make Artigo a reliable, dynamic and sustainable partner for any contemporary architectural project requiring a solution that brings together resistance, flexibility, and durability.[/vc_column_text][vc_raw_html]JTNDc3R5bGUlM0UlMEFib2R5JTIwJTNFJTIwZGl2LnNpdGUtd3JhcHBlciUyMCUzRSUyMHNlY3Rpb24lMjAlM0UlMjBkaXYlMjAlM0UlMjBkaXYlMjAlM0UlMjBkaXYlMjAlM0UlMjBhcnRpY2xlJTIwJTNFJTIwaGVhZGVyJTIwJTNFJTIwaW1nJTIwJTdCZGlzcGxheSUzQSUyMG5vbmUlM0IlMjB2aXNpYmlsaXR5JTNBJTIwaGlkZGVuJTNCJTdEJTBBYm9keSUyMCUzRSUyMGRpdi5zaXRlLXdyYXBwZXIlMjAlM0UlMjBzZWN0aW9uJTIwJTNFJTIwZGl2JTIwJTNFJTIwZGl2JTIwJTNFJTIwZGl2JTIwJTNFJTIwcCUyMCU3QmRpc3BsYXklM0ElMjBub25lJTNCJTIwdmlzaWJpbGl0eSUzQSUyMGhpZGRlbiUzQiU3RCUwQSUzQyUyRnN0eWxlJTNF[/vc_raw_html][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/2"][vc_gallery interval="5" images="10287,10288,10289,10290,10291,10292" img_size="1000x1400"][/vc_column][/vc_row]

So, I could say that my first job consisted in everything that might cross your mind related to architecture. My first important job I had 1 year later, when I started to work for a German architecture studio based in Bucharest. That was the first time when I started to realize what being an architect really required. The projects were diverse, from small family houses to hospitals, for both Romania and Germany. I eagerly intended to be part in all of the projects that were at that time in the office.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width="1/6"][vc_icon type="openiconic" icon_openiconic="vc-oi vc-oi-help" color="orange" background_style="rounded" align="right"][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/6"][vc_column_text]If someone were to write a book about your architecture career, what would be its title?[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width="2/3"][vc_column_text]If the book is to be published nowadays, I would say: “A lot more to come…Stay Tuned! 😊”[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width="1/6"][vc_icon type="openiconic" icon_openiconic="vc-oi vc-oi-help" color="orange" background_style="rounded" align="right"][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/6"][vc_column_text]Do you have a signature style?[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width="2/3"][vc_column_text]I could say that all of our projects, not necessarily only the office ones, have a distinctive design that we intend to implement in order to create an individual personality of the space or building that we imagine. If I would highlight the first 3 criteria that merge in HTO’s project I would say:
  • Functionality – Form follows function
  • Quality – we always push the client to implement as much as the budget allows quality rated materials and systems
  • Timeless design – we try not to always “to be in trend” …. contemporary design rules and highlights, especially in the office projects, have the particularise that could result in not such a particular project.

If we put aside all of the client’s requirements in terms of functionality and design (which I might point out that we successfully achieved 😊) the fact that the Architectural Project was appointed in late August 2018 and Concept approved in late September 2018 and the fact the entire 8.000 sqm had to be implemented by the 1st of May was pretty challenging. We were aware  from the begging of the project of the tight schedule, and the solution that we presented to the client, solution that we believe was the only possible way to deliver, consisted in developing the project only using systems (partitions, furniture, flooring, etc.) that came from worldwide renowned brands and, beside the quality and design specification had the advantage of a very short required implementation time.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width="1/6"][vc_icon type="openiconic" icon_openiconic="vc-oi vc-oi-help" color="orange" background_style="rounded" align="right"][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/6"][vc_column_text]What are your thoughts on the importance of floor coverings in interior design today?[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width="2/3"][vc_column_text]Floor coverings are very big part of the project…any project. It’s a large surface that you interact with on day to day basics. In terms of design, the proper use of it should complement your ideas and add value to the entire project. DESSO HUMAN FASCINATION

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Human Fascination is the latest addition to the DESSO Carpetecture family, celebrating nature's diversity as well as its fragility. Step onto solid rocks, get lost in a field of flowers, marvel at a mountain and follow ancient field lines until you reach the horizon. DESSO Human Fascination carpet tiles let you take the world inside. Wild, natural landscapes fascinate and inspire us. We want to be with them, feel them, traverse them in an endless quest to know nature. We feel a need and a responsibility to protect the elements as well as discover them, preserve our natural resources as well as use and reuse them to create healthy indoor environments.

Granite

The DESSO Granite carpet tiles are marked by 18 colourways, resembling the raw, unpredictable textures of the volcanic earth. Muted, earthy tones meet rich, spiced tones in a three-dimensional design that gives this collection a wild streak. From fiery red to subtle grey, this carpet flooring resembles a terrain of brave, unplanned nature.   “There is a thrill to this earth that will never bore me. Brave landscapes make for a harsh existence and yet I feel revitalised. This terrain is a braille message left for me to read. My feet will leave prints in this vibrant sand, someone else will erase them and build a new path. We are always moving in circles.”

Breccia

Inspired by the strength and durability of real marble and rugged rocks shaped by the sea, the DESSO Breccia tile is a fresh, energising carpet tile available in seven different shades. The patterns on these carpet tiles capture nature's rough and entrancing elements with simple colours, refreshing colour combinations, and sustainable materials. “A wind that nourishes and heals, the sea never quiet, always moving. The slippery rocks feel cold but strong, shaped by thousands of years of waves coming and going, coming and going. I feel so small standing here, this rugged podium beneath my feet, the sound of the waves soothing for days.”

Arable

Looking at sunscorched, agricultural landscapes for inspiration, the DESSO Arable carpet tile collection is inspired by that part of our world where natural landscapes meet human intervention. A colour pallette of 10 warm and cold tones mirror the natural materials found in fields, with a dual-tone evoking that unmistakable sense of wide open spaces and rich textures.   “The curves of the earth speak volumes, and I've been around to listen. The sun shapes my skin, feet softly sinking into the soil. There is wisdom to be found in these ancient lines. Each grain of sand a time capsule, each rock a memory and a glimpse into the future.”

Flores

Capturing the rich diversity of the planet's flora, the DESSO Flores tiles combine muted tones and expressive brights to bring life and energy into your indoor space. A three-dimensional design evokes the creative vibe of Impressionis paintings, making the Flores tile a true work of art.

“When I touch a plant, pollen falls, a soft breeze carrying it away to a new kind of life. It reminds me that the mystery of nature is always just out of reach. Colours dancing against my eyelids, all the hues and shades of the natural world. It's a kaleidoscope of inspiration, new ideas for miles and miles, right up to the horizon and who knows what lies beyond.”

NEW LAMINAM PRODUCT @SALONE DEL MOBILE

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

MARCH 2019, MILANO

IN-SIDE is born!

Are you ready to discover the latest Laminam technology?

Laminam exclusively presents IN-SIDE / Pietra Piasentina Taupe: extracted from the earth, technologically sculpted. With its new finish, with its powerful Japanese-inspired setting, this is IN-SIDE, a brand-new technological product for the large sized ceramic slab sector: the first series to boast material continuity between its body and surface. Laminam ceramic slab is used as the material of choice for kitchen countertops, where it constitutes a valid alternative to marble and stone materials which have both a greater cost and environmental impact. The technical and aesthetic characteristics of Pietra Piasentina are inspired by the ancient Japanese meditative practice of Suiseki, or ‘stone formed by water’.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

MEET SANDY AND JOE

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image="9600" img_size="1600x400" alignment="center"][vc_column_text]The New York based designer Sandy Chilewich is founder and creative director of Chilewich | Sultan LLC, a company managed with her partner and husband Joe Sultan. For the last three decades and with two distinct businesses, Chilewich has reinterpreted underutilized and overlooked manufacturing practices. Since 2000, Chilewich has designed innovative textiles for numerous applications. Sandy launched placemats and floor mats with her original signature textiles in 2000. Her designs have transformed the way tables are dressed in homes and in restaurants around the world. Her floor mats provide a clean modern alternative underfoot. In 2001, the Chilewich Contract Division launches as a commercial flooring company with the introduction of woven textiles for Wall-to-Wall (W2W) and Tile Flooring. Joe Sultan, Sandy Chilewich's architect husband, spearheaded the development of backings suitable for commercial use with the existing Chilewich woven textiles collection. Plynyl® W2W and tile flooring, with their soft and resilient polyurethane cushion and richly woven textures and colors, were recognized as truly innovative flooring products when they were first introduced. At the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) Chilewich's new flooring designs won the Editor’s Award in the Carpeting and Flooring Category. Year after year Chilewich gains more and more acknowledgement worldwide by a series of collaborations and successful products. Craft, Tom Colicchio's world renowned establishment, is the very first restaurant to use Chilewich textiles on their tables. In 2007 Chilewich celebrates its ten years association with the internationally renowned Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) Design Store. In 2010 Chilewich collaborated with the creative firm, freecell, for Interior Design Magazine's Hall of Fame event. In 2013, Chilewich made a significant environmental development by replacing the petroleum-based plasticizers in yarns with phthalate-free, renewable vegetable compounds. Plasticizers have traditionally been made from petroleum-based compounds that are used to make PVC yarns soft. No more. These innovative new yarns and the fabrics made from them are called TerraStrand™. Every square yard of TerraStrand™ saves .02 gallons of petroleum and .41 pounds of CO2 as compared to conventional woven vinyls. 90% of all Chilewich woven textiles are phthalate-free starting 2015.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width="1/2"][vc_column_text]Chilewich's Contract Division patented BioFelt®, a PVC-free tile backing system. The backing is made from recycled water bottles, renewable vegetable compounds, as well as post-industrial materials. The total recycled content of the tile (including TerraStrand™ and the BioFelt® backing) exceeds 55% and can contribute to achieving certifications in environmental stewardship programs worldwide. Chilewich CEO, Joe Sultan, says, "BioFelt® is the most exciting tile backing system we've ever developed. The tile has a wonderful cushioned feel to it, it's much lighter than vinyl, it’s tough and durable and can be installed with VELCRO® Brand Hook Squares – it's a truly exciting development." Ideal for all areas where carpet is specified and for most areas where hard surface flooring is specified, BioFelt®, this innovative composite backing system is even better!
  • Moisture barrier to prevent liquids from being absorbed.
  • Simple to maintain and durable with a 10 year commercial warranty.
  • Reduced resistance for walkers and wheelchairs vs carpet.
  • Softer than hard surface flooring options making safer in falls and more comfortable for walking.
  • Microban ® antimicrobial protection.
  • Low VOC - Greenlabel Plus Certification

Desso’ sustainable ingredients to success

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]
“Corporate Responsibility embraces our responsibility to a business model that delivers success in terms of commercial profitability while having a positive impact on people and the environment.”
For Desso, being a Cradle to Cradle® company means going beyond what most people conceive of as sustainability. The main goal of the company is that by 2020 all their materials will have to be free of toxins that could cause harm. Desso wants to achieve this with its new DESSO EcoBase® backing, which contains a polyolefin-based layer that is 100% safely recyclable in the company's production process. Carpet tiles with DESSO EcoBase® achieved a Cradle to Cradle® Silver Certificate for having reached a level where up to 97% of the materials are positively defined. Let’s see some examples of collections with which Desso proves its leadership in the sustainability domain.

DESSO AirMaster®

When you consider we spend around 90% of our time indoors, it is critical that the inside air is as clean as possible. DESSO AirMaster®, the first product in the world to be certified with a GUI Gold Plus label, is 8 times more effective in capturing and retaining fine dust than smooth flooring solutions and 4 times more effective than standard carpet solutions. Scientists at GUI’s laboratory measured DESSO AirMaster’s ability to reduce fine dust concentration, conducting 15 tests in three test rooms, each furnished with different flooring solutions (smooth floor, standard loop pile carpet and DESSO AirMaster®). DESSO AirMaster® Earth & Tones collection is produced using only 100% recycled ECONYL® yarn combined with the recyclable DESSO EcoBase® backing as standard. It’s well known that improved indoor air quality can potentially boost productivity by 0.5 to 5%.

Gold Collection

Gold Collection is the first carpet tile collection in the world to be awarded a Cradle to Cradle Gold level certification. The collection offers many advantages, including: 100% positively defined materials; 100% regenerated ECONYL® yarns; an average of 80% reusable materials; an average of 52% recycled material; very low VOC emissions. Inspired by the shifting sands of the desert, the subtle layered design of Desert collection brings a feeling of vast open space to the indoors. Desso believes that its commitment to the Cradle to Cradle® philosophy and the transition to the circular economy will enable it to become more efficient in the use of natural resources, improve its environmental footprint and its development of healthier materials in its products that benefit people and the planet.[/vc_column_text][vc_gallery interval="5" images="9586,9587,9588,9589,9590,9591,9592,9593" img_size="800x533"][vc_btn title="Contact us for more details" color="warning" i_icon_fontawesome="fa fa-envelope-o" add_icon="true" link="url:mailto%3Aoffice%40decorfloor.ro|title:Contact%20us%20for%20more%20details|target:%20_blank"][vc_raw_html]JTNDc3R5bGUlM0UlMEFib2R5JTIwJTNFJTIwZGl2LnNpdGUtd3JhcHBlciUyMCUzRSUyMHNlY3Rpb24lMjAlM0UlMjBkaXYlMjAlM0UlMjBkaXYlMjAlM0UlMjBkaXYlMjAlM0UlMjBhcnRpY2xlJTIwJTNFJTIwaGVhZGVyJTIwJTNFJTIwaW1nJTIwJTdCZGlzcGxheSUzQSUyMG5vbmUlM0IlMjB2aXNpYmlsaXR5JTNBJTIwaGlkZGVuJTNCJTdEJTBBYm9keSUyMCUzRSUyMGRpdi5zaXRlLXdyYXBwZXIlMjAlM0UlMjBzZWN0aW9uJTIwJTNFJTIwZGl2JTIwJTNFJTIwZGl2JTIwJTNFJTIwZGl2JTIwJTNFJTIwcCUyMCU3QmRpc3BsYXklM0ElMjBub25lJTNCJTIwdmlzaWJpbGl0eSUzQSUyMGhpZGRlbiUzQiU3RCUwQSUzQyUyRnN0eWxlJTNF[/vc_raw_html][/vc_column][/vc_row]

Clerkenwell Collection - Celebrating The Circle

INSPIRED. INSPIRING

“A rich and diverse community once known for its traditional craft-making skills such as printing, watch and jewellery making. A secret village of passageways and ancient buildings, with a long history of political intrigue twisting around every corner. A place re-energized to become home to hundreds of creative businesses and transformed into one of the most important design hubs in the world. Clerkenwell, a place where things happen and people get inspired.” So why is Milliken now celebrating the circle? It’s seem the right time, because the market place is braver and is embracing different shapes and forms. The organic nature of the shapes with their curves and contours provides the work place with a rhythmic and uninterrupted feel. Watch Making, the new addition to the collection, represents a bridge between Time Piece & Circle Top View desings. Lines from the Circle Top View play hide and seek with the Time Piece statement shapes and each element is a smart combination of two different elements from these 2 succesfull patterns that encourages architects to create and play.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/3"][vc_gallery interval="5" images="9537,9538,9539,9540,9541,9542" img_size="600x900"][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row full_width="stretch_row" parallax="content-moving-fade" parallax_image="9555" css=".vc_custom_1551095343523{margin-top: -10px !important;margin-bottom: -10px !important;padding-top: 100px !important;padding-bottom: 100px !important;}"][vc_column width="2/3"][vc_column_text]

  • Millitron® print technology is key to creating the strong visual texture of Urban Poetry subcollection composed of diffused and blurred pattern contours. The multi tile design naturally forms organic patterns which flow freely across the floor, looking absolutly ravishing.

Introducing SOEMA – HANDCRAFTED TECHNOLOGY

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]“Handcrafted Technology” outpours from a “Philosophized Fabricating Method” based on a distilled result of respect. It abides on an attitude of mind, where fulfilment is a journey of constant exploration and not a destination. It is a philosophy and a way of life. This is what we learned from Soema. Soema was set-up in 1985 by two progressive engineers who visioned the future with innovative products and patents that eventually would originate a significant difference, by “embracing technology and human mastery” in a balanced artisan way. Through this inspired working philosophy, Soema targeted solemnly the field of “professional requirements”, succeeding to create respect and acceptance for the brands products in this difficult, demanding and polymorphic segment.[/vc_column_text][vc_raw_html]JTNDc3R5bGUlM0UlMEFib2R5JTIwJTNFJTIwZGl2LnNpdGUtd3JhcHBlciUyMCUzRSUyMHNlY3Rpb24lMjAlM0UlMjBkaXYlMjAlM0UlMjBkaXYlMjAlM0UlMjBkaXYlMjAlM0UlMjBhcnRpY2xlJTIwJTNFJTIwaGVhZGVyJTIwJTNFJTIwaW1nJTIwJTdCZGlzcGxheSUzQSUyMG5vbmUlM0IlMjB2aXNpYmlsaXR5JTNBJTIwaGlkZGVuJTNCJTdEJTBBYm9keSUyMCUzRSUyMGRpdi5zaXRlLXdyYXBwZXIlMjAlM0UlMjBzZWN0aW9uJTIwJTNFJTIwZGl2JTIwJTNFJTIwZGl2JTIwJTNFJTIwZGl2JTIwJTNFJTIwcCUyMCU3QmRpc3BsYXklM0ElMjBub25lJTNCJTIwdmlzaWJpbGl0eSUzQSUyMGhpZGRlbiUzQiU3RCUwQSUzQyUyRnN0eWxlJTNF[/vc_raw_html][vc_gallery interval="5" images="9477,9478,9479,9480,9481,9482,9483,9484" img_size="1255x399"][vc_column_text]Soema is the one of the first companies that has been able to combine consciously this “Handcrafted Core Philosophy” and merge its consolidated production of photocell electronic systems with the planning and manufacturing of furnishing and modular compositions in various materials like CHPL, CORIAN, STAINLESS STEEL and GLASS. The mastered “No Touch” patents of our sanitary electronic equipment and the wide range of structures designed, gives us the possibility to project and fully equip the most challenging “High Traffic Sanitary Areas & Changing Room Facilities” in any professional environment. Today, making another step forward, by creating the self-standing or wall-mounted “Sanitary Prefabricated Inspectional Systems” SPIS and parallel the “Modular Prefabricated Perimeter System” MO.PPS, that adopt all our patents, we can say that Soema has reached a mature stage of insight-giving the market “another option” that can be revolutionary.[/vc_column_text][vc_btn title="Contact us for more details" color="warning" align="center" i_icon_fontawesome="fa fa-envelope-o" add_icon="true" link="url:mailto%3Aoffice%40decorfloor.ro|title:Contact%20us%20for%20more%20details|target:%20_blank"][/vc_column][/vc_row]
